Minority hiring agreement is reached.

The result of a protest campaign begun on September 1, 1963, the agreement brokered by the Boston chapter of the Congress for Racial Equality leads to the hiring of nearly 200 African-Americans at the First National Bank, the National Shawmut Bank and the New England Merchants Bank.
